The Softest Baby Afghan Ever!

Use Bernat Baby Blanket super bulky yarn and size N (10 mm) hook.

Bobble:  Yarn over, insert hook through next stitch, yarn over, hook back through stitch (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 2 loops (2 loops left on hook).  Yarn over and pull through 2 loops (2 loops left on hook).  Then yarn over and insert hook through SAME STITCH, yarn over, hook back through stitch (4 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 2 loops (3 Loops left on hook), yarn over and pull through all 3.

To start:  Chain 4 and join to form a ring

Round 1:  Chain 3.  Work 1 dc into the ring (this counts as your first "bobble").  Chain 1.  *Work 1 bobble into the ring, chain 1*  Repeat between * and * 6 more times, until you have 8 "bobble spokes" in total.  Make a slip stitch into the 3rd chain of your initial chain-3 to join.

Round 2:  You will be working through the chain-1 spaces between bobbles for this round.  Chain 3 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc into the same space, then chain 1.  This forms a "dc cluster".  Into the next space between bobbles, *work 3 dc & then chain 1*.  Repeat between * and * 6 more times, working your way around the circle, making a total of 8 "dc clusters.  Make a slip stitch into the 3rd chain of your initial chain-3 to join.

Round 3:  Working out of the chain-1 spaces between the dc clusters of the previous round.  Chain 4 (counts as 1 dc+chain-1 space) into the same space, and work 3 dc, chain-1.  This forms the first part of a corner cluster.  You will come back around to complete this corner at the end of the round.
Into the next space, work 3 dc, chain-1.  This forms a side cluster.
Into the next space work 3 dc, chain-2, 3 dc and chain-1.  This forms your second corner cluster.
Into the next space work 3 dc, chain-1.  This forms your second side cluster.
Into the next space work 3 dc, chain-2, 3 dc, chain-1.  This forms your third corner cluster.
Into the next space work 3 dc, chain-1, this forms your third side cluster.
Into the next space work 3 dc, chain-2, 3 dc, chain-1.  This forms your fourth corner cluster.
Lastly, work 2 dc into the first space where the first part of a corner cluster is.  This effectively joins with your initial chain-3 to complete that part of the first corner cluster.
Make a slip stitch into the 3rd chain of your initial chain-3.

Round 4:  Working out of the chain-1 spaces between the dc clusters of the previous round, chain 4 (counts as 1 dc+chain-1 space)
Into the same space, work 3 dc, chain-1.  This forms the first part of a corner cluster.  You will come back around to complete this corner at the end of the round.
*Into the next space, work 3 dc, chain-1.  This forms a side cluster.  Into the next space, work 3 dc, chain-1.  This forms an additional side cluster.  Into the next space work 3 dc, chain-2, 3 dc, chain-1.  This forms the second corner cluster.*
Repeat from * to * twice more, forming the second side clusters, the third corner cluster and third side clusters.  Into the next space, work 3 dc, chain-1.  Into the next space, work another 3 dc, chain-1.  This forms the fourth side clusters.
Lastly, work 2 dc into the first space where the first part of a corner cluster is.  This effectively joins with your initial chain-3 to complete that part of the first corner cluster.
Make a slip stitch into the 3rd chain of your initial chain-3.

To make additional rounds, add an additional side cluster on each side for each successive round.  sOtherwise, follow the instructions for Round 4.
